I knew Will Frye-went to High School with him. Afterwards we both moved to Brooklyn. By ‘97 he was in Williamsburg living in a loft built out with brother. They did bicycle tricks indoors and got high too often. Way too often. Then they were selling their bikes and catching black eyes. Last I had heard he was in San Francisco. I spotted this piece in an opening at Deitch gallery. Caption says ‘99, but I think the opening was later. Confounded me then. Did McGee find it, or write it himself? Where was Will? Who out there loved him?

Recalling Days on the Run With Abducted Children
Nephra and Shanel Payne said they abducted their eight children from foster care because they learned they were to be put up for adoption.
This is one of the most complex and moving pieces of journalism I have read in a long time.

I grew up perusing my mother’s boyfriend’s H.R. Giger books, and I can safely say I’m a fan, but dude- that aesthetic gets pretty creepy when brought to life. Also- gets played out quick.
